Tasting Notes
"In 2005, we looked for fresh flavors and crisp acidity, as well as a lush ripeness. The final blend offers an exotic nose of fresh pear and clove, with hints of Meyer lemon and honeysuckle. Juicy flavors of crisp citrus, pear and crème brulée lead to a subtle, toasty finish." - Melissa Stackhouse, La Crema Winemaker
Expression of the Vintage: 2005
In a word, the 2005 harvest can be described as “even.” Perhaps not very
dramatic, but a winemaker’s nirvana. “Even” means everything happened
right on time – and the weather stayed uncannily moderate, allowing the
fruit to ripen slowly and steadily. The 2005 vintage allowed for Chardonnay
that is intense in fruit, floral components and concentration.
