How to Store & Keep Your Shortbread Fresh
To keep your Shortbread fresh and crisp, it’s important to store them properly. Storage Tips:- Airtight Containers: After the cookies have completely cooled, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. This will help maintain their crispness for up to 3 days.
- Separate Layers: If you’re stacking the cookies, place a layer of parchment paper between them to prevent sticking and preserve their texture.
- Freezing: For longer storage, you can freeze the shortbread! Wrap the cookies in plastic wrap or wax paper, then place them in a resealable bag or airtight container. They’ll stay fresh in the freezer for up to 3 months.
- When ready to enjoy, simply thaw them at room temperature. You may want to pop them back into the oven for a few minutes to restore their crispness.
